How To Make A Knickerbocker Glory
- Serves:
- 1
Step 1: You will need
- 1 pack strawberry jelly
- quarter mango
- 7 strawberries
- vanilla ice cream
- squirty cream
- 3 mini meringues
- chocolate sauce
- chopped mixed nuts
- 1 tall serving glass
- 1 bowl
- 1 kettle
- 1 measuring jug
- 1 scissors
- 1 spoon
- 1 ice cream scoop
Step 2: Jelly
Cut a block of jelly up into a measuring jug. Pour over as much boiling water as the instructions on the packet advise. Stir until the jelly has completely dissolved into the water, top up with cold water as per the instructions, and stir. Pour into a bowl, and place in the fridge to set. Leave it overnight or for at least 6 hours.
When the jelly has set, roughly chop it into small pieces.
Step 3: Chop the fruit
Hull and quarter 7 strawberries. Save half a strawberry for the final garnish. Slice a quarter of a mango into small cubes.
Step 4: Assemble
Place a few pieces of mango and strawberry in the bottom of the serving glass. Spoon over a little jelly. Crumble over one mini meringue and then add a small amount of ice cream.
TOP TIP
Dip the ice cream scoop into a cup of warm water before you dish out the ice cream. This will make it easier to scoop.
Repeat the layers; a little fruit, a little jelly, a crumbled meringue and layer of ice cream. Keep going until you reach the top of the glass.
Step 5: Cream
Give the can of squirty cream a vigorous shake, hold it upside down, and cover the dessert with a thick layer of cream.
Step 6: Toppings
Sprinkle over a few chopped nuts, drizzle with chocolate sauce and top with half a strawberry. Add a decoration as a finishing touch.

this looks like alot of work!! also the decoration looks tacky!! banana splits are my fave - they're great and you can easily make them from tinned fruit (pinapple, mixed fruit and strawberries etc) cut the bannana in half and place your ice cream over the fruit finish with cream and raspery melba sauce :] yum!
i want to right some chilled desserts! anyone have any ideas?
