  • 30 ml Cointreau

  • 1 shot measure
  • 1 cocktail shaker
  • 1 strainer (if the shaker doesn't include one) or a small sieve

Step 2: Prepare your cocktail

We are going to SHAKE this cocktail to blend the ingredients together and then strain it into the glass.

Put 2 teaspoons of sugar into a saucer and spread it over evenly.

Put 2 teaspoons of sugar into a saucer and spread it over evenly. Then cut a lime in half lengthways and cut a wedge from one half. Then rub the rim of the glass with the lime wedge. Now put the glass upside down in the sugar and press it down to cover the rim thoroughly with sugar. Next, half fill the shaker with ice cubes. Then cut an orange in half and squeeze both halves. Add 50 millilitres or a long splash of the freshly squeezed orange juice to the shaker. Next add 50 millilitres or a long splash of pineapple juice. Now, measure out 25 millilitres of gold tequila, more a less a splash, and pour it over the ice. Follow this with 25 millilitres or a splash of Cointreau.

Secure the lid tightly onto the shaker and holding both ends, shake. When you finish, remove the lid , leaving the strainer on.

Step 3: Finish the cocktail

Holding the strainer firmly down, pour the cocktail into the sugar-rimmed glass. and garnish with the slice of lime. Then add two dashes of grenadine. Your cocktail is now ready to be served.
