How To Make A Latte

Learn to make a delicious creamy latte with this guide from coffee expert David Littlejohn. Save on the overpriced coffee from Starbucks and make a latte that would beat the major chains in any taste challenge.

Ingredients

  • coffee beans
  • milk

Step 1: Prepare the Coffee Maker

Lock the porto-filter into the group-head. Press the extraction button to make a double espresso.

Step 2: Steam the Milk

Purge the steam wand by opening it up. This will allow any loose water to come out so it doesn't end up in your coffee. Take the steam wand out to the side, place your cup of milk so that the tip is about 1 cm below the surface of the milk. Open the steam wand fully.

Step 3: Polish the Milk

Tap the jug of milk to get rid of any bubbles, then spin. Add the milk to the double espresso. Fill to the top of the cup. Serve.
