How To Make A Marina Playa Cocktail
Step 1: You will need
- 50 ml tequila
- 40 ml vodka
- 30 ml passion fruit liqueur
- 1 orange, for juice: approx 90ml
- 2 tsp sugar
- Ice cubes
- 1 orange slice, to decorate
- 1 25/50ml measuring cup
- 1 cocktail shaker
- 1 strainer (or sieve)
- 1 chopping board
- 1 sharp knife
- 1 juice squeezer
- 1 highball or tall glass
- 1 straw
Step 2: Prepare the cocktail
We're going to shake this cocktail. This will combine the ingredients more than stirring and is used for cocktails containing ingredients such as cream, fruit juices and eggs that are difficult to mix.
Firstly half fill a cocktail shaker with ice cubes and then measure out 50ml, or a very generous splash of tequila and pour this over the ice.
Next, measure out 40ml or a generous splash of vodka, and add it to the mixture.
Now, pour in 30ml or a medium splash of passion fruit liqueur. Now take a fresh orange, cut it in half, and squeeze the juice of both halves into a juice squeezer. Add the juice to the shaker.
Finally, add two teaspoons of sugar.
Put the lid on the shaker and give it a few taps to make sure it's secure and shake your Marina Playa well!
Now remove the lid from the shaker and fit the strainer over the shaker. If you don't have one a sieve will suffice.
Step 3: Present your cocktail
To serve your cocktail, half fill a highball glass with ice cubes. Strain the cocktail into the glass. To decorate, take another orange, cut off the end and then cut a generous slice.
Cut the slice in half... and then make a cut a little way into the juicy part of one half so that you can place it on the side of the glass.
Add a straw and there you have it!

Alcoholics
I make a Hurricane Peggy. Love it w/ 2.5 oz. 100 proof SoCo. I combine a mix of 2 c. sweet sour liq. mix, 1 c. pina colada mix, and 1 c. strawberry daiquiri mix in a mason jar. I use less than 1oz. of this mixture. Squeeze of 1/4 lemon or lime. Maybe a cherry or two, ice, and top off with diet lemon lime. Haven't found anything quite like it. I drink 2 a day, and can't wait for 5 o clock.
