Step 1: You Will Need

  • 50 ml vodka
  • 20 ml lime juice
  • 2 dashes angostura bitters
  • 2 slices of fresh ginger
  • ginger beer
  • ice cubes
  • cocktail shaker
  • cocktail strainer
  • muddler
  • chopping board
  • knife
  • serving glass
  • measuring spoons

Step 2: Ginger

Drop a slice of ginger into the mixing glass and muddle.

Step 3: Vodka

Pour in 50ml of vodka

Step 4: Lime juice

Add 20ml of lime juice

Step 5: Angostura bitters

Splash in 2 dashes of angostura bitters

Step 6: Shake

Fill the glass with ice cubes. Put the other half of the cocktail shaker on. Slap it down firmly to seal. Hold the top and bottom, shake vigorously for about 20 seconds.

TOP TIP
When there is condensation on the outside of the shaker, and it feels very cold, then it's mixed.

Step 7: Ice

Fill a serving glass with ice cubes

Step 8: Garnish

Slice off a thin wedge of ginger, and place it on the lip of the glass. Add a couple of straws

Step 9: Pour

Place the strainer over the top of the cocktail shaker and pour into the serving glass

Step 10: Ginger beer

Finally top up with spiced ginger beer
