How To Make A Paper Panda Bear Mask
Professional prop and puppet maker Corina Bona shows you how to make a panda mask easily at home, perfect for making at kid's parties or on rainy afternoons.
You Will Need
- 1 paper plate
- black fabric
- black marker pen
- string
- PVA glue
- scissors
- stapler
Method
Draw some eyeholes on the underside of the paper plate and cut them out. Then take the black fabric and cut a square-shaped piece. Fold in half and cut along the folded edge and cut away the rectangular edges to make an egg or oval shape. Cut along an arc on the top to form two piece to go on the top of the eyes. Repeat this on the bottom of the fabric oval to create the pieces for the bottom of the eyes. Take another piece of fabric, fold in half and cut some curves into this to create the nose. Cut a moustache shape to make the panda's smile.
To make the ears, take another folded piece of fabric and cut out two rectangular pieces. Cut along the fold and glue the two of the pieces with PVA glue mixed with water. Cut a semi-circle shape to make the ears. Glue all the other pieces of fabric on to the paper plate. Join up the mouth and nose using your black marker pen.
To wear your mask, attach some string to the back of the mask, near the eye holes with a stapler. Add some masking tape to make it secure.
