This is how you make an origami throwing star. We're going to start with a square piece of paper and we're just going to cut it in half, so we get two rectangles. I'm going to fold one of them in half.

We're going to fold the other one in half as well, but in the opposite direction so you get one that's gray and one that's white. Now, we're going to fold them in half lengthwise and then unfold. Now, we're going to fold this line to the center line, so it's going to go this direction, and we're going to fold that line in the opposite direction.

We're going to do the same here, but it's going to be the mirror image of this one, so we're going to fold it this direction and this direction so that they're mirror images of each other. Take one, and we're going to fold that point to this point, and again, the same on the other side. Take the other piece and do the same.

I'm going to fold that point into the midsection, and again, here, so you see that they're mirror images of each other. I'm now going to combine these together like that and then I'm going to fold this part in half, and what we usually see is that this part will push into this pocket here. Turn it around and repeat.

We're going to fold this part in half and going to push that tip into that pocket. Finally, turn it over and repeat in the other direction. We're going to push this part into there.

And there is your origami throwing star. .
