In this video I'm going to show you how to make a rocket engine. Now for this, you will need to build your own rocket. Now this is my rocket which I made earlier, and how I made it is I took an empty water cooler bottle just like this and then I took a drinks bottle, a small one, vut the bottom off and fixed it to the end of the water cooler bottle.

So I've wrapped lots of duct tape around and also put this around because it needs to be really secure because it's going to be put under pressure. So that's fixed on that end. Then I have cut out some wings and stuck those on and also used half of another bottle to put on the top so it gives it this sort of more rocket shape, but you can decorate it however you like, these aren't essential to make the rocket work.

And the next thing I've done is I've got an old wine bottle cork and I've drilled a hole all the way through and then I've got an inner tube from a bike, it's an old inner tube this, and what I did is hammered it into the hole. So you need to make sure that the hole you drill is smaller than the inner tube so it's a really snug fit when you put it in. Then I've tied some string around the cork which you have to put on really securely so it doesn't come off.

So once you've got your cork ready you need to fill the water cooler bottle a quarter full with water and then put the cork back in really securely. Then you need to head outside and there I'm going to show you how to launch your rocket. So here we are outside.

I've got my lovely assistant here who's going to help me and we've also got a bicycle pump. So if you watch what we do and we're hopefully going to launch our rocket. And that is how you make a rocket engine!.
