Step 1: You will need...

  • 1 tsp caster sugar
  • sparkling mineral water
  • 50 ml lime juice
  • 2 dashes of bitters
  • 50 ml rum
  • ice cubes
  • 1 long drink, collins glass
  • 1 stirrer or bar spoon
  • 1 25ml/50ml shot measure

Step 2: Prepare your cocktail

We're going to build – which means putting one ingredient into the glass after another – and then stir this cocktail.

First add the sugar to the Collins glass. To this, add the lime juice and a little sparkling mineral water. Dissolve the sugar while stirring. Now fill the glass with ice cubes.

Add the bitters and rum and stir well again.

Step 3: Present your cocktail

As a finishing touch, prepare a lime wedge and slide it onto the edge of the glass before serving. Enjoy!
