Step 1: What You Will Need

First you need a piece of 2 inch schedule 40 PVC. It has to be schedule 40 because of the thickness.

Step 2: Cut The Pipe

Go ahead and cut that PVC pipe to 7 inches.

Step 3: Cut A Circle On A Drum Skin

I had an old drum skin laying around, so I took a compass and I marked a 2 inch hole. Then I cut that piece out.

Step 4: Place A Spring In The Drum Skin

I also found this long skinny spring. You want to punch a hole in the round drum skin and then fish a portion of that spring through that hole.

Step 5: Glue The Drum Skin To The Pipe

Then take some hot glue to seal that hole and make it airtight. Then using some plumbers goop or other glue, go ahead and glue that drum skin to the PVC pipe.

Step 6: Test The Sound Effects

And then check it out. It makes some really cool sound effects. You can hit the spring to make different sounds, and cover and uncover one end to make some other noises.

Step 7: Decorate The Pipe

I did a printout of a cool picture and I glued it onto mine. You can also try different types of springs for different effects. And there you have it, a rumble pipe.
