How To Make A 'Salvador Dali' Clock
How To Make A 'Salvador Dali' Clock: VideoJug and VideoJug user KipKay show you how to make a Salvador Dali clock. Take an old record and transform it into a cool melting Dali clock.
-
Step 1:
-
Pick A Record
-
OK, it’s time to make another recycled record project. This time we gonna make a cool Salvador Dolly clock.
Pick out the appropriate record, and then you want to take a cookie sheet and put that record on to the cookie sheet.
-
Step 2:
-
Heat In An Oven
-
The next step is to put it in an oven that has been preheated to 200 degree. Now you only want to leave it in there for about five minutes. After five minutes it should be nice and soft.
Now take it out of the oven and place it somewhere that has a flat edge.
-
Step 3:
-
Flatten The Record
-
Then you want to bend down the very top of the record and make it nice and flat.
WARNING: You don’t have a whole lot of time before it hardens. But you can heat it back up if you need to.
-
Step 4:
-
Pull The Clock Apart
-
Then I found the cheapest six dollar clock in the local super store. With this clock you want to take it all apart including pulling the hands off and the clocks mechanism.
-
Step 5:
-
Reassemble The Clock
-
Now the record has a hole right in the middle and the clock mechanism will easily fit right through the middle.
Then you should use some hot glue to secure the movements in the back of the record.
I also trim the minute hand and the second hand so it stayed within the side of the label. Then finally you want to get a grill and just grill a small hole in the very top so you can hang it somewhere. Now you have a pretty cool Salvador Dali clock.
