This VideoJug film demonstrates how to make a convincing Father Christmas costume on a tight budget, using household clothing items and materials.
Okay, how to make a fabulous Father Christmas outfit. Basically, it's not that easy. You can use a few things from home, or you can come and hire something terrific like this.
It's definitely worth getting somebody that is very fat to wear it because it looks a lot better, but otherwise you can use something like this which Bailey is now going to demonstrate for you. This is called a Father Christmas fake belly, and it really, really, really helps if you're quite slim, and you actually want to look like a big fat Father Christmas. You can get a very nice bit of red fabric, put it over there, put a big black belt around it, and the kids probably won't know the difference.
But, if you're actually taking it quite seriously, then you have to think a little bit about what you've got in your wardrobe. See how nice it looks? Put the hat on, and ho ho ho! As I was saying, for a really quick, like a one or two-minute Father Christmas just to impress the little children, this is economy all the way to Father Christmas. Now, in an average wardrobe, you are going to find some sort of red shirt, or a black pair of trousers.
We're going to show you how you can change that into a nice little Father Christmas outfit. Have you got a shirt? You can take something like this and pop it on. For the belly, you can actually use, of course, a cushion.
Do this up. You're still going for the color which is absolutely essential. You've got your belt again, and for children, they are perfectly happy with this.
For the office party, I would strongly suggest that you get the proper outfit. You can also get them down in the High Street now for very, very, very, very cheap, but if you're really in a bit of a rush and you need one, this is a good way. This is also another coat.
This does not take long at all to run up on a sewing machine. It might take you about an hour and a half? It is very, very, very simple. It is two pieces of fabric.
They have been rolled over on each other, and they have been hemmed very simply. Sew a piece of white fur around the bottom, and how effective is that? The quality is there. We use good quality velvet, and that outshines the actual make of it, so even if you're not the best sewer in the whole world, this will make a really, really fast, good Father Christmas outfit.
But if you want a professional one, let's see what it really should be looking like. .
