How To Make A Sea-Creature Mobile
Step 1: You will need
- 1 paper or foam bowl
- scissors
- elastic cord
- glitter glue
- shiny stickers
- shiny paper
- sparkly material
- felt
- goggle eyes
- PVA glue
Step 2: Prepare
Turn a bowl upside down. This will be your sea creature's body. Cut a piece of elastic cord about 20cm long. You might need an adult to help you with this next bit. Pierce a hole in the centre of the bottom of the bowl with some scissors. Thread the cord through the hole and tie a knot in the bottom. Tie a loop at the other end so you can hang up your mobile when it is finished.
Step 3: Decorate
Cut one long, wavy strip of material. Add some PVA to the inside of the bowl, and stick it so that it hangs down and looks a bit like a jellyfish. Cut off any spare ends of material.
Step 4: Add legs
Take a few pieces of different coloured felt and lay them one on top of the other. Carefully cut them into strips. Put some glue on the underside of your bowl and stick the ends of the felt strips down. Work your way round the bowl once, add more glue and repeat until all the strips are glued. These will dangle from your sea creature like tentacles when you hang it up.
Step 5: Final touches
Decorate the body of your creature. Use shiny stickers, glue on bits of shiny paper, stick on a couple of goggle eyes and finish with some glitter glue.
Step 6: Hang it up
Wait a few minutes until the glue has dried. Then your mobile is ready to hang up. Have fun with your sea creature but be careful he doesn't bite you.
