How To Make A Singapore Sling Cocktail
Singapore Sling Cocktail. Diego Garcia, Head Bartender at the Oxo Tower Bar and Brasserie shows us how to make a Raffles Singapore Sling to its original recipe. Sample our Singapore Sling Cocktail.
Step 1: You will need
- cocktail shaker
- long glass
- 25ml (1 fl oz) measure
- 50ml (2 fl oz) measure
- measuring jug
- measuring spoons
- bar spoon
Step 2: Lime juice
Add 7.5 ml or one and a half teaspoons of lime juice to a mixing glass.
Step 3: Pineapple juice
Then 75 ml or 2.5 fl oz of pineapple juice
Step 4: Angostura bitters
a dash of angostura bitters
Step 5: Benedictine
7.5 ml or one and a half teaspoons of Benedictine
Step 6: Cherry brandy
Next add 15 ml or three teaspoons of cherry brandy
Step 7: Cointreau
7.5 ml or a teaspoon and a half of Cointreau
Step 8: Gin
Add 25 ml, or 1 fl oz of gin
Step 9: Grenadine
and 7.5 ml or a teaspoon and a half of Grenadine
Step 10: Ice cubes
Fill the mixing glass with ice cubes
Step 11: Shake
Put the top half of the cocktail shaker on. Slap it down firmly to seal. Hold the top and bottom, and shake vigorously over your shoulder for about 20 seconds.
Step 12: Handy Hint
When you see condensation on the outside of the shaker and it feels very cold, the Singapore Sling is mixed.
Step 13: Release
Tap the side of the shaker to loosen the two halves. You may need to rock the glass back and forth to release it.
Step 14: Strain
Now place the strainer over the shaker and strain into the long glass.
Step 15: Crushed Ice
Top up the drink with crushed ice.
Step 16: Garnish
Add two straws, a slice of pineapple, and a glacier cherry, and serve.
