How To Make A Soup Base
Here's a simple easy guide to making a delicious soup base, perfect for any soup, and ideal for the winter! You can add whatever vegetables you like to this dish!

Ingredients
- 55 g butter
- 1 tsp caraway seeds
- 1 large Spanish onion
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1 kilo carrots
- 1 tbsp tomato puree
- 1 glass fresh orange juice
- 1 pint chicken stock
Step 1: Prepare The Ingredients
Crush and slice your garlic, and slice your onion and carrots.
Step 2: Combine Ingredients
Bring a saucepan to heat, and add the butter and the caraway seeds, and allow the butter to melt and blend with these seeds. Now add the onion and the garlic, and stir well. Then add the carrots, and mix well. Let this rest for about 5 minutes. After 5 minutes, add the tomato puree, and mix this in. Add the orange juice into the mix, then the chicken stock, and stir in. Leave this to simmer for about 25 minutes.
Step 3: Blend And Serve
Ladle the mixture into a blender, and blend until it is nice and smooth. Pour the mixture back into the saucepan bring it back to heat, stir, and finally serve into serving bowls.
