How To Make A Sporting Event Air Horn

Step 1: What You Will Need

All you need is a 35 millimeter film can, a straw, a pair of scissors and a balloon.

Step 2: Cut Holes In The Canister

First, use the scissors and open up a hole in the bottom of the 35 millimeter canister. You want the straw to fit into the hole snugly. Then you want to cut another small hole in the side of the 35 millimeter film canister. This should be a small hole, this is the one you're going to blow through.

Step 3: Trim The Balloon

Using an ordinary balloon, cut the balloon in half along the crease on the side of the balloon, and then trim it so you end up with a small round piece of balloon.

Step 4: Stretch The Balloon Over The Canister

Then you want to take that balloon and stretch it over the opening of the canister. When you've got it tight, go ahead and put the cap on the can.

Step 5: Insert The Straw

Insert the straw in the end, and you're ready for a 120 decibel sports air horn you just built in five minutes.

Step 6: Test The Air Horn

By adjusting the straw and even how tight the balloon is, you can get a wide variety of sounds.
