How To Make A Table Runner

Hi, I'm Charlie and this is Phil and we're visual merchandisers for John Liz Artistry. We're going to show you how to make a table runner. You lay the table first with your table cloth.

We've chosen a very summery blue and green. So if you first match it up, if it's a little bit shorter like this one is, just match it to the edge like that. Make sure it's equal at both sides.

You don't want a lopsided table. How you can do that, if you look underneath, you can match up what this length is to the following length. So this side we slightly need to pull it down.

That's it. Now we're going to add the table runners. It goes to the length of the table first, and to the long table we're going to use two table runners.

So do it by eye from where the middle of the table is, and then just add your other runner in. And then the same with the table cloth. We're going to make sure the ends line up and we can see that they do.

Now we're going to add the place mats and we're going to have a six setting table. So we've got some placemats that match the table linens. So it's going to add these in.

And if you add it to the edge of the table, it just makes a nice finish to the table dressing. And that's how you make a table runner.
