How To Make A Thirty Dollar Steadicam
Learn how to build a steadicam with parts you can get at the local hardware store.
Use 1/4" 20 hardware. This is also called a coarse thread. There is also 1/4" fine thread. Make sure not to use that or the camera won't thread on.
Find out how much your camera weighs in order to know how much counterweight to use. My camera weighed 3 and 3/4 pounds, so I counterweighted accordingly. You need to do the same.
It would not take much to strip out your cameras threads when installing this thing. BE CAREFUL and use the wingnut to make it snug. Snug means handtight. Don't use pliers to tighten it or something.
