In this Videojug clip, Rob Goves from Squires Kitchen provides demonstration on how to make a toffee sauce. He explains the key ingredients that should go into the making of the sauce and also the process involved in preparing the sauce by mixing the ingredients in correct proportions.
I am going to show you how to make a simple toffee sauce. I have got some golden caster sugar, some heavy creamed up crème, unsalted butter and golden syrup. Halve the vanilla flower.
We are going to split him open and squeeze the seeds out. And then, the vanilla seeds and the crème are going to go into the sauce pan. I am going to warm that up for two reasons.
And the two reasons are first, to infuse vanilla with the crème for flavour and also because when we incorporate the crème into a caramel and butter mixture, if it's too cold, it can sort of bubble up and it can be dangerous. It can bang you. If it's a bit warmer, then your incorporation would be smoother.
Then, we take our golden caster sugar and our butter and our golden syrup, and we put this into another sauce pan and bring this to the heat, and you want to cook it at a medium to high heat for about five minutes until the sugar is dissolved. You want to be stirring it as you do that. So, vanilla and crème are fused.
Our sugar dissolved in the butter and then, we pour the crème in. Okay, the toffee sauce is cooled down now, and it's ready to serve. I have got a slice of banana cake here.
What you can do is take your toffee and drizzle over. And that's how to make your toffee sauce. .
