Step : You will need

  • 1 Fried Corn Tortilla
  • ½ cups (120ml) Refried Beans
  • 55 g Cheddar Cheese
  • ¼ g Shredded Lettuce
  • ½ g Green Peas
  • ½ cups (120ml) String Beans, Cut into One-Inch Pieces
  • ½ cups (120ml) Shredded Beets
  • ½ cups (120ml) Shredded Carrots
  • ¼ cups (60ml) Thousand Island Dressing
  • Avocado and Tomato
  • 55 g Monterey Jack Cheese
  • Vegetable Oil

Step 1: Prepare The Tortilla

Preheat the oven to 350º F/ 117º C/ Gas Mark 4

Place the fried corn tortilla on an oven safe plate. Then place a layer of refried beans on top of the tortilla, make sure to cover the whole tortilla. Sprinkle the beans and tortilla with the Cheddar cheese. Place it in the oven for about 5 minutes or until the cheese is completely melted. Once the cheese is completely melted remove the plate from the oven.

Step 2: Prepare The Salad

Transfer the tortilla to the bowl or plate that you will serve the tostada on. On top of the tortilla add lettuce, peas, green beans, carrots, and beets so they form a little mountain. Pour on the salad dressing and then sprinkle the cheese all around the top. Garnish the tostada with the avocado slices and the tomatoes. Serve.

Real mexican tostadas are not like that! It's just the fried tortilla with beef and or/ refried beans, some few tomato slices, maybe 1 or 2, some lettuce (not a lot!) some cheese on top and salsa! I love to eat them with a jalapeño on the side!

Agree peas, carrots and beets are not into tostadas ingredientes. And that wast most likely a salad island. You will eventually drop most of the ingredients when trying to eat. pakitos

this not a mexican tostada, the first step is ok, you put beans, lettuce, chicken tomatoe, avocato sliced, cram and cheese, and chipotle on top, this is a autentic mexican tostada. I have never seen this salad tostada with peas , carrots and beets ever.
