How To Make A White Russian Cocktail
Step 1: You will need…
- 50 ml Vodka
- 25 ml coffee liqueur
- 25 ml single cream
- ice
- short glass
- cocktail shaker
- 25ml (1fl oz) bar measure
Step 2: Vodka
Put 50ml or 2fl oz of vodka into the mixing glass
Step 3: Coffee Liqueur
Then add 25ml or 1fl oz of coffee liqueur
Step 4: Cream
Now add 25ml or 1 fl oz of single cream
Step 5: Ice
Fill your serving glass and mixing glass with ice
Step 6: Shake
Put the top half of the shaker on, pressing down firmly to seal. Hold the top and bottom and shake vigorously over your shoulder for about 20 seconds.
When there is condensation on the outside of the shaker and it feels very cold, you know that the cocktail is thoroughly mixed.
Step 7: Release
Tap the shaker to loosen the two halves. Release the top by rocking it back and forth.
Step 8: Serve
Strain the cocktail over the ice, and serve.
Step 9: Variations
Experiment with the quantities to get your perfect mix. You could also try milk as an alternative to cream. Leaving out cream or milk altogether creates a Black Russian.
Tips & Comments
Disappointed man. You don't shake a White Russian at the end as it then turns it into a Dirty Bird
The Dude abides...
The Dude: Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man.
kaluah-colada is the best. Anyone got the recipe?
it good
Is it necessay to look a complete bell-end, to make this, as per the bloke in the vid?
Kahlua is the coffee that was available to the "White Russians" (they were anti-russians) So kahlua is just another name for Coffee Liqueur
I thought it was vodka, light cream, kahlua?
I've been making these since 92, and yes it's better to stir this drink and not shake! Shake it and ruin it, stir it and enjoy one of the best drinks around. I strongly recommend a Freddy Fudpucker, also another top drink along with Killer Kool Aid. Enjoy ;)
it's better to stir a white russian, and not shake it. the vodka mixes better with the cream/milk
