How To Make A Woman Mask
Whether you are going to a fancy dress party, of hosting a children's party, you can't go wrong with masks! Corina Bona, professional prop and puppet maker, shows you how to make a 1920s lady mask.
You Will Need
- scissors
- marker pens
- coloured pencils
- decorative materials
- pritt stick
- masking tape
- sellotape
- garden stick
- thick paper
Method
Mark the position of the eyes on the paper, taking a measure from your own eyes; then draw on the rest of the face. Draw round cheeks with a space for your nose to go. Draw swirly hair and a turban. Colour in your mask with the colouring pencils.
Cut out the face. Poke some holes in the turban, then insert bunches of feathers which have been strapped together with tape, and secure with tape at the back.
Make holes in the eyes with the point of your scissors, then carefully cut out eye holes.
Add any other decorations you like to your mask.
Finish the mask by folding along the nose, and sticking on the stick with masking tape.
