In this step by step guide you will learn how to make your own homemade almond milk. You can enjoy this healthy drink on its own or use as a base for a tasty smoothie.

Ingredients

  • Almonds
  • Water

Step 1: Prepare the Almonds

The almonds can be left to soak overnight to soften them for easier blending.

Step 2: Blend

Add the almonds and water (normally in a one cup to three cups ratio) to the blender and blitz for about thirty seconds to a minute.

Step 3: Strain

Place a nut milk bag into a jug, with the edges hanging out over the edge of the jug. Pour the blended mixture into the bag. Take the bag back out and secure the opening with the drawstring. Then push the milk out into the jug by squeezing the bag. Only the dry pulp will be left in the bag, which can be used for other recipes. Pour the milk from the jug into a glass to serve.
