As a fat American I LOVE cheesecake! I watched this video for fun but I'm confused, what in the world is quark cheese? I have never heard of that in my life. Buttered biscuits? I guess that's english for cookie crumbs? Instead of that a more frequent crust used here is crumbled graham crackers. Just put a fair amount of graham crackers in a plastic bag, use a hammer or your fist to break up the pieces in the bag until it's very fine. Then put into an 8x8 or 9x9 cake pan and lightly brush egg whites onto the crust in the pan. Bake at 350F degrees for 8 minutes to get it solid. Hope this helps! KLC

Great recipe, but if you don't want it to crack like that in the middle, then don't put in in the fridge. Turn off the oven a little sooner (3-4mins) than the recipe says and leave it in there until completely cool. The slower a cheesecake cools, the less likely it is to crack.

Buttered buiscuits? Quark cheese? Sour cream? What the heck? Powdered sugar? Mint sprigs? Maybe I'm just too American...I don't use these things...
Crushed graham crackers for the crust with melted butter. I've never heard of Quark cheese and would never think of putting sour cream in my cheesecake, nor would I put powdered sugar or mint sprigs on it...

I use these ingredients to make a delicious cheesecake. 1-8 oz package of cream cheese (Philadelphia), 1 can of sweetened condensed milk, 1 egg, 3 Tbsp of lemon juice, and a can of raspberry jelly or other preserves.

The crust can be bought in the store, Food 4 Less sells an Already made crust. The baking time takes about 50 minutes.

This is easier:
Make your own crust or buy a pre-made one. I like crumbled graham crackers. For filling, take 16 ounces of full-fat cream cheese (very important...low fat won't work) and 8 ounces of whipped cream (I prefer cool whip) and whip them together. Add up to 1/3 cup sugar to taste. If you like, add up to 1/4 ounce unsweetened chocolate (melted). Spread this mixture into the crust and refrigerate at least 6 hours to set. Tastes EXACTLY the same and requires a lot less work (not to mention it's no-bake!) I've been using this recipe to fool my family for years.

If you want a good cheesecake, use full fat cream cheese instead of quark (I never seen that sold in America). This may be fattening, but it is a desert and if you want to something healthy, eat a salad.

First, Quark is an ingredient used in German cheesecake, never heard an American cheesecake using quark, as some people already said, it's not readily available.
2. that's NOT the way to make a cheesecake, can't believe they uploaded this.
The Cheesecake had a MASSIVE crack!!! it's not supposed to crack or sink.
What went wrong was first, you have to bake it in a baine marie (waterbath), make sure to wrap your cake tin in 2 layers of tin foil so the water doesn't sip through, then, when it's baked, run a warm knife around the edge so when the cake cools down it won't crack as it did in this video.
And 2. you should never vigourously stir the ingredients, it will get air in it, no matter how careful you are.
Just fold it in! It might take some time but at least the consistincy will be right.
If you want a good cheesecake recipe, go to allrecipes.com and search for Chantall's New York cheesecake.
