An Americano coffee is a large black coffee made by adding water to espresso. In this Videojug guide David Littlejohn, owner of LJ Coffee House in Soho, shows you how to make one.

Ingredients

  • 14 g coffee

Method

Extract a double espresso into a cup.

Fill the cup up to the top with water at 88-90 degrees Celsius. The water should not be boiling as this could scold the coffee and ruin the flavour.

Serve black, or with a little milk.
