How To Make An Origami Crane
Today we will explore the fasinating ancient art of Origami. We take you through some simple steps to get you strarted on your first piece, an origami Crane.
Turn over your coloured piece of square paper and fold in half on the diagonal
Make another diagonal fold to make a triangle half the size
Raise the corner, separate the two sheets and squash the point flat
Turn the model over, raise the corner, separate the sheets and squash flat
Take the edge and fold it to the centre crease
Take the opposite edge and fold it to the centre too
Turn the model over and fold both edges to the centre of the model
Lift the flaps out and take a single sheet. Lift it up and pull it until the sides close in and stretch out
Turn the model over and repeat
Make the edges narrower by folding them to wards the centre
Turn the model over and repeat step 10, folding the edges towards the centre
Open up the model and bring the point up nice and high before closing it again using a reverse fold
Repeat with the other point. This time create an extra reverse fold to create the crane's
Take the wings and pull them apart. As you take the wings out the centre of the bird will balloon out to form the body.
