How To Make An Origami Peacock
Today we will explore the fasinating ancient art of Origami. We take you through some simple steps to get you strarted on your first piece.
Step 1:
Fold your note across on the diagonal
Step 2:
Fold the other side to match
Step 3:
Fold the note down lengthways onto the point where folds one and two crossed
Step 4:
Push sides in and fold back to create a pointed end
Step 5:
Fold one triangle to one side, pick out and squash flat
Step 6:
Pick up the point making sure the flaps come in at the same time
Step 7:
Fold the point down and then in half
Step 8:
Then repeat steps 4,5,6 and 7 with the other triangle. Push sides in and fold back to create a pointed end, Fold one triangle to one side, pick out and squash flat, Fold the point down and then in half
Step 9:
Fold the points in half again making sure they are stiff and hard
Step 10:
Fold the main body of the note in to match the smaller triangle
Step 11:
Fold the entire model in half, you should now be able to see the two legs of the peacock, the head and the tail
Step 12:
Do a reverse fold on the tail by folding it back on itself
Step 13:
Open out the tail and fold it back up again
Step 14:
On one side to reveal half of the tail
Step 15:
Open out the tail and fold it back up again with small folds – you should continue these steps until run out of paper and a nice pleated tail has been completed
Step 16:
make a reverse fold on the head of the peacock and raise it up
Finally make one last reverse fold to create its beak
