Step 1: Prepare The Sauce
Welcome to the Kikkoman Teriyaki Recipe Series. We are going to prepare an apricot-ginger teriyaki sauce that you can use with either chicken or pork. So let's begin! Take one third of a cup of apricot preserves, cutting up any large pieces, and place in a small saucepan. Add a quarter cup of Kokkoman Teriyaki Sauce, one and one half teaspoons of brown sugar, one teaspoon of grated fresh ginger, and a quarter teaspoon of onion powder. Stir occasionally while bringing the mixture to a boil. Remove the pan from the heat and let cool to room temperature.
Step 2: Prepare The Meat
Take one pound of boneless skinless chicken breast halves, or four boneless pork loin chops, and place them into a large dish. You can also use a large plastic food storage bag, for easy cleanup. Cover with a half-cup of fresh Kokkoman Teriyaki Sauce; turn over and place in the refrigerator. Keep them in there 45 minutes for chicken, or 4 hours for pork.
Step 3: Grill The Meat
Set the grill five inches from hot coals. For chicken, cook 12 to 15 minutes, turning over once until it is thouroughly cooked. For pork, grill 7 minutes on each side or until it's done.
Step 4: Serve
Remove from the grill, and immediately glaze with 2 tablespoons of apricot- ginger teriyaki sauce. Serve the remaining sauce with chicken or pork. And there's Grilled Chicken With Apricot-Ginger Teriyaki Sauce. Thank you for joining us, and happy cooking.
