How To Make Banana Vodka

Hi, my name's Ali from Mixology Events. We specialize in cocktail master classes for large and small groups. I'm here today to go through some infused and flavored vodkas.

Now, we're going to make banana vodka. What you'll need is some vodka, banana, a mixing glass, a knife, and some form of straining. When making our banana infused vodka, it's important for you to not use too much of a ripe banana.

What we're looking for is we're looking for the vodka to break down the banana and not for the banana juice to take onto the vodka. Now, what I do here is simply take a whole banana, cut it up, stick it in our mixing tin, and then macerate it down, then add our vodka. We're then going to stir this banana through and then we're going to leave just for two days.

The banana is a quite soft fruit and it will degrade quite quickly. And we're going to get that infusion to happen very fast so we just cover it and leave it for two days, then come back to it to strain the pulp out. So now after two days, the banana has degraded inside the vodka and has started to infuse.

Now, we need to get the pulp out of the vodka, so we strain. And there we have our banana infused vodka that can be taken as shots or in the cocktail of your choice. .
