How To Make Barbecue Chicken
- Serves:
- 4
- Preparation Time:
- 20 minutes
- Cooking Time:
- 30 minutes
- Total Time:
- 50 minutes
- Oven Temperature:
- 200° c - 390° f
Step 1: Preheat the oven
- 6 chicken drumsticks, skinned
- 8 tbsp tomato ketchup
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 2 tbsp soya sauce
- 4 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 2 garlic cloves, chopped
- 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 4 tbsp water
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- 2 spring onions, chopped
- Salt and pepper
- 2 saucepans
- 1 sharp knife
- 1 baking tray
- 1 bowl
- 1 wooden spoon
- 1 chopping board
Step 2: Make the marinade
Into a saucepan put the tomato ketchup, brown sugar, water, Dijon mustard, chopped garlic, soya sauce and Worcestershire sauce.
Heat gently for a few minutes whilst stirring continuously to mix all the flavours together.
Step 3: Prepare the chicken
Take the knife and cut a few slits into each drumstick. This will allow the marinade to soak into the meat.
Step 4: Boil the chicken
Take the other pan and add the drumsticks to it.
Cover with cold water and add 4 tbsp of the marinade.
Bring to the boil and then simmer gently for 10 minutes, skimming off any excess foam that rises to the surface.
Step 5: Marinate the chicken
Remove the drumsticks from the water and leave them to cool.
When cool, cover them with the remaining marinade and season with salt and pepper.
Step 6: Cook the chicken
Put the drumsticks on a baking tray, allowing a small space between each and place it in the centre of the oven.
Bake for 20 minutes.
Step 7: Add the oil and spring onions
After 20 minutes, add the olive oil and the spring onions and cook for another 5.
Step 8: Serve
Serve while baking hot with French fries and a leafy salad.

Excellent! I just did this recipe and I am licking my fingers clean!
Very Good!
Just curious about one thing... what part of this involves a barbecue? I watched and didn't notice where that happened.
has anyone tried this ?
so whats the outcome? u ate the burn chicken LOL?
Making the recipe as we speak, but I'm pretty mad right now, cause in the print details they say, pre heat the oven to 460 Fahrenheit, I went off of that, in the video they say it the correct way, 400 Fahrenheit. So my chicken may be ruined cause I baked on a too high temperature. That needs to be corrected. I'll let you know the outcome.
