How To Make Bath Melts

A natural skincare and fragrance expert shows a simple way to make your own bath melts using a blend of almond oil and cocoa butter. You can drop it in the water for a luxurious bath.

Today, I'm going to show you how to a make bath melts. Bath melts are simply a blend of cocoa butter and almond oil that you can just drop into your bath, which gives a nice luxurious, moisturizing feel to the water. We're going to be using cocoa butter today and almond oil, and we're going to use a dark cocoa butter so actually, they look like chocolates, so they make a really great gift, too.

To make the bath melts, you'll need 100 grams of cocoa butter. The cocoa butter that we're using is a dark cocoa butter, 50 ml of almond oil, 20 drops of the essential oil of your choice. We're going to use orange, we're going to make a chocolate orange bath melt.

And you can use an ice cube tray to make these bath melts, but today, I'm going to be using silicone fondant moulds. You'll need a glass container, either a bowl or a jug, to melt your cocoa butter in, and a pan of boiling water. So, step one, we're going to place the cocoa better into your container and place into your boiling water to melt.

I'm just going to melt this over a gentle heat. I'll turn that down slightly. So, now the cocoa butter is completely melted, we're going to add in 50 ml of almond oil and give that a stir to make sure it's mixed in thoroughly.

Next, we're going to remove from the heat and add our 20 drops of orange essential oil. And now, we're ready to pour into our moulds. Now, your bath melts are ready to place in the fridge to set.

Our bath melts have set nicely in the fridge and we're just going to turn them out, ready to use. And that's how to make bath melts.
