How can this dish be called chicken tikka masslla when they only used plain chicken. It is meant to be chicken tikka, hence the name Chicken Tikka Massalla. I will gladly share any of my indian recipes I have with anyone who e-mails me. If cooked right they taste better than any curry house. E-mail me at bigsuggz2110@talktalk.net

Amazing!!! The flavor is intense. I love this dish. I would add a little less cayenne pepper next time. I made double the amount of chicken and spices and only 1 tsp cayenne. Was way too hot. But we ate every last bit. D-Licious.

I use to replace the yogurt for chicken broth. And add some tiny apple cubes after adding the tomato. Then, serve it with some rice not 'al dente' that was done by putting in a pan one measure of rice and two of water and letting it dry without stirring and under a low fire. Then, comment here the result. :)

Chicken Tikka Masala is a ubiquitous dish in the UK - different recipes abound, with the only common ingredients being chicken and yoghurt, usually. The key point, however, is that "Tikka" means baked in the (clay) oven - so this isn't tikka masala - no matter how nice it may taste. Try marinating the chicken pieces in yoghurt and curry spices overnight, then bake in a medium oven whilst making a sauce from the remaining marinade and the spices listed here ( plus some chilli, in my opinion) Just a thought.

How do I marinade the chicken to make this recipe better?

I made this curry on Friday for 2 by halving the ingredients (but adding extra garlic). It was a bit lacking in flavour and lacking also a bit in 'bulk' - eg there wasn't much sauce to go around! I'd recommend using twice the stated amount of ingredients, and adding extra spices (apart from perhaps the cayene pepper). It was pretty nice regardless of this though. Definitely a good curry for first time curry maker (me) as it'll give you insight into what you need to do next time. I also heard that it's worth marinating the chicken which I'll try after my next attempt I think!! Got all the ingredients now, so why not?
