How To Make Chocolate Covered Marzipan
You can have marzipan covered with chocolate or any flavour you want and thereafter cut them up in different shapes and dip them in different flavours.
Hello. I'm Annabelle and I'm Billie and we're from Confection Perfection in Maidstone based in Kent. We're experts in all aspects of cake decorating and today, we're going to be showing you about marzipan and cake decorating.
So, we're going to be making chocolate covered marzipan. We've got chocolate melting over there now. Now, you take your bowl of marzipan, just surface with icing sugar so it doesn't stick.
You want to roll out your marzipan, nice and thickly between spaces. Now if you use spaces, it keeps the marzipan nice and even and if you twist them on their side like that, it does keep it nice and thick. So, if you just roll it out and you want to keep rolling until your rolling pin won't go further, so we just run straight into its faces.
Keep turning your marzipan to make sure it's not sticking to the surface and if it does start to stick, just put down a little more icing sugar. So, that's nice and evenly rolled. You can take some cutters and begin to cut up some shapes.
If you just leave these on grease-free paper so that they don't stick or anything so you've got blossoms, circles, hearts and stars. You can do anything you want to do. Now, once you've cut out your shapes, you should leave those to set for about 12 to 24 hours preferably so they do need to be nice and dry.
So, once your chocolate is nicely melted and you're shapes are set, you need to use dip-in forks or a spoon if you haven't got them. You need to take it in turn just a dip your chocolate your shapes sort of chocolate so it's nicely coated, tap up on the edge, that's nice and smooth and then you can put it back in your greaseproof. And you just repeat this with your shapes.
Now, once they're done, you can decorate. We, at Confection Perfection, just make everything more pretty. We've chosen a nice dark pink chocolate, it does contrast really well.
And then, you can use little blossom flowers just to decorate your shapes which will make those stand out. It's up to you to put these on or different colour glitters as well, so you can do what you want to do. .
