How To Make Chocolate Covered Strawberries

Chocolate covered strawberries are a favorite for both kids and adults alike. Sweet, chocolaty and rich, this simple recipe is perfect for a quick dessert or afternoon treat. Satisfy your sweet tooth with our chef, "CJ" aka Chris Jacobson's chocolate covered strawberries.

Step 1: You will need

  • parchment paper
  • cooking sheet
  • tempered glass bowl
  • double boiler

Step 2: Chocolate Meltdown

If you don't have a double boiler, you can use a TEMPERED glass bowl. DO NOT use any other bowl that isn't tempered, as the extreme heat will cause an un-tempered bowl to shatter. Add 4 crumbled chocolate bars to the top of the double boiler or tempered glass bowl. Allow 4 cups (1 L) of boiling water to melt the chocolate over the next few minutes, stirring occasionally. Once fully melted, turn off the heat and let the hot water continue to warm the melted chocolate.

Step 3: Take A Dip

Wash 1 lb (450 g) strawberries and dry off any excess water. Excess water will cause the melted chocolate to seize and become unusable. While holding the strawberry by the stem, dip the strawberry into the melted chocolate and roll it around until it is fully coated. Place the dipped strawberry on a cooking sheet covered with parchment paper. Refrigerate for 1 hour to let the chocolate firm up. Serve and enjoy!

Step 4: Done.
