Here is a super simple way to create a superb chocolate sauce that you can do yourself at home courtesy of Rob Goves from Squires Kitchen. In this video, he explains the basic ingredients required to create the sauce and takes you step by step to the sauce's completion.
I'm going to show you how to make a very, a very simple chocolate sauce. We've got some chocolate pistols here but if you can't get a hold of these, just buy bars of chocolate and then just break them up. Then we've got some butter, milk, double cream and some sugar.
The first thing you need to do is melt the chocolate over a saucepan of water which I've done over here, pour it in over here and then give it a stir. You have the water, just a simmer, until the chocolate's completely melted. In another saucepan, take your milk, two tablespoons of double cream and your sugar, and bring it to the boil.
The chocolate in this recipe has to be a high content cocoa chocolate. So, anything above sixty percent will be suitable. It needs to be a dark bitter chocolate.
Okay, bring your milk, cream and sugar to the boil and when it's come up to the boil, take it off the heat, take the spatula out and pour your hot milk and cream over the chocolate. Transfer the chocolate and milk solution back over to the heat and then stirring all the time, whisking all the time, just drop your butter in a piece at a time, then just whisk it in. Okay, let's do it all, a very simple plain dark chocolate sauce and when it's ready, you can just pour it into your jug and something like this does extremely well with just plain fruit.
And that's how you make a simple chocolate sauce.
