Ingredients

  • 300 ml Beer
  • 2 Eggs
  • 300 g Plain Flour
  • 500 g Calamari
  • 1 Lemon
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Step 1: Make the Batter

To make the batter, crack the eggs into a large bowl and whisk gently to mix the yolk and white. Add the beer and the flour and mix well. Add salt and pepper for seasoning. If the batter gets too thick, add a small amount of water.

Step 2: Deep Fry the Calamari

Cut the calamari into rings, dip them in the batter, then place them into a deep fryer. When they are cooked, place the calamari on some kitchen paper to absorb the excess oil. Serve with a wedge of lemon and a sprinkle of salt.
