Step 1: You will need …

  • 4 gammon steaks
  • 8 slices of pineapple- juice reserved
  • 3 tsp Worcester sauce
  • 2 tsp brown sugar
  • 1 baking tray prelined with aluminium foil
  • scissors
  • 1 spoon
  • tongs
  • 1 teaspoon

Step 2: Preheat the grill

Set the grill to a medium heat.

Step 3: Snip the fat

Using the scissors, snip the fat of each of the gammon steaks at 2.2cm or 1 inch intervals This stops them curling up during the cooking process.

Step 4: Pour over the juice

Place the steaks onto the prelined baking tray and with a teaspoon, drizzle over each steak some of the reserved pineapple juice.

Step 5: Grill

Place the tray under the grill, near the top of the oven and cook for 6 minutes. Turn the steaks over, drizzle over some more of the pineapple juice and leave to cook for a further 6 minutes.

Step 6: Add the rest of the ingredients

Once grilled place 2 of the pineapple slices onto each of the steaks. Sprinkle with brown sugar and drizzle over the Worcester sauce. Place the tray back into the oven and cook for a further 4-5 minutes. Remove from the oven after this time.

Step 7: Serve

Place on a serving plate, garnish with some fresh parsley and serve.

This is best served with corn on the cob with lots of melted butter or some fresh broccoli.
