How To Make Glazed Beetroot

Step 1: You will need...
- 3 medium beetroots, peeled
- 2 oranges, juice only (strained)
- 1 lemon, juice only (strained)
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 knob of butter
- 1 saucepan
- 1 spoon
- 1 cutting board
- 1 knife
Step 2: Prepare the beetroot
Cut the beetroot into segments.
Step 3: Cook the beetroot
Put the beetroot into a saucepan. Pour over the orange and lemon juice and sprinkle on the sugar. If the juice alone doesn't cover the beetroot, add some water until it is just covered. Stir gently.
Step 4: Simmer
Bring the liquid to the boil and simmer until it has almost evaporated or the beetroot is cooked. This will take approximately 10 to 15 minutes, depending on the size of the pieces.
If necessary, add some more water and cook until the beetroot is tender.
Step 5: Glaze the beetroot
Once the beetroot is cooked, you will be left with a syrup in the bottom of the pan. Add a small knob of butter to the pan and stir over a low heat until it has melted and the beetroots are glazed.
