How To Make Goat's Cheese Balls With Herbs & Spices
- Serves:
- 4 to 6
- Preparation Time:
- 30 minutes
- Cooking Time:
- 25 minutes
- Total Time:
- 55 minutes
Step 1: You will need
- 300 g goat cheese, room temperature
- 2 tbsp thyme chopped
- 2 tbsp chives chopped
- 2 tbsp roasted walnuts chopped
- 2 tbsp sesame seeds toasted
- 2 tbsp crushed black pepper
- 1 tbsp paprika
- 75 ml olive oil
- 2 trays
- some wax paper
Step 2: Roll into balls and chill
Start by taking a small amount of goat cheese in your hands and roll it into small balls. Place on a tray lined with wax paper. Repeat until all the cheese is used. Chill for a minimum of twenty minutes.
Step 3: Season the balls
Begin by making thyme-seasoned balls. Roll each ball in the bowl of thyme, pressing slightly so that the herb sticks to all sides and set on the tray. Now repeat this procedure with the chive, walnut, and sesame seed balls.
The black pepper and the paprika balls are coated a little differently. When seasoning the balls with fresh black pepper, only coat two sides of the ball instead of the whole surface or it might be too spicy.
As for the paprika balls, just sprinkle a line down the middle of the ball, all the way around the ball and set on the tray. Again, this prevents the canapé from being too spicy.
When you are finished, you will have a selection of four varieties of goat cheese balls on your tray.
Step 4: Present and serve
Your goat cheese balls are almost ready to serve, except for the presentation. Drizzle oil all over a plate and arrange the balls in an appealing manner. Now serve them to your guests and enjoy!
