How To Make Greek Yogurt
This video describes the preparation of Greek yoghurt. Greek yoghurt is made up of sheep and goat milk.
Hi, I'm here to talk to you about yoghurts. So, the main difference between the Greek yoghurt and the normal plain yoghurt is the milk with which it's made with. Normal plain yoghurt is made with milk of cows and Greek yoghurt is made from sheep's and goat's.
So, that's what makes the difference when we make it up. When you make yoghurt, the bacteria put into it multiply and that's what causes there to thicken up and get tangy. So it's the same, exactly the same process for natural and Greek except obviously, to start with your goat or your sheep milk.
And then also to make it thicker, what most people do with Greek yoghurt is by the time it's finished setting, I suppose after it's incubated, you take it out and you run it through cheesecloth. So, you basically sit the yoghurt into a cloth and hold it up above a bowl for overnight or something like that as in 3 - 4 hours, and all the way would drip out from the bottom, leaving a much more concentrated, thicker and tangy yoghurt in the bottom. That's it. .
