The really great thing about making your own hair bows is that you can be creative and choose any colour that you want and have fun at the same time.
Hello, I'm going to show you how to make hair bows for girls. Step one: you'll need a piece of ribbon, two inches wide by seven and a half inches long, a smaller piece of ribbon, one and three quarters inches long, an alligator clip and a piece of ribbon to cover it, and a needle and thread. Step two: You're going to seal the ends of your ribbon just by passing it through a hot flame, so either with a candle or a lighter.
Make sure that you don't set fire to the ribbon. Then, we're going to fold the ribbon in half and just crease it; you just want to know where the middle of the ribbon is. We're going to open it out and fold the ends over that creased line.
If you want to, you can put a pin in to hold it in place. Then, you're going to take your needle and thread, just secure the thread with a couple of back stitches to the edge of the ribbon and then just sew a running stitch all the way down the centre of the ribbon, making sure that you catch both ends of the ribbon in your stitching. Then, you're going to pull out the gathering thread and secure the ribbon.
Then, you're going to secure the stitching with a couple of back stitches. Then, take your smaller piece of ribbon and lay it over the centre of the larger piece. You just sew in the one end of the ribbon to begin with and then fold over the other end and sew that down and secure the thread and just trim it off.
So, there's your bow, the next thing to do is to put it on a clip. So, we're just going to place a little bit of glue onto our piece of ribbon, open the clip and lay the ribbon on the inside. I'm going to put some more glue onto the ribbon and fold it over, so that we've covered over our clip.
Then, we're just going to put a dab of glue onto the back of our bow and place it onto the alligator clip. And that's how you make a hair bow for girls. .
