Learn how to make herbal teas like a professional. This tea sommelier shows you how to brew the perfect cup of peppermint tea from start to finish.
Hi, I'm Jemma Swallow from The Tea Box in Richmond, Surrey. I'm a tea sommelier, at the specialist tea house, where we serve and sell around fifty loose leaf teas. We also do corporate tea tastings and public tea tastings.
Today, I'm going to show you the variety of teas that we sell here at the shop. I'm now going to show you how to make a really nice herbal tea. One of the best and most popular is peppermint tea.
It's renowned for its health properties in terms of helping your digestive system. It's a really nice fresh smell. So, we put a scoop in the teapot, just like that.
And then we put on any temperature of water, but preferably, the hotter the water, the better, because this will bring out the full flavor quicker. Very good, we put the water on like that and you can see it already, it's starting to turn a slight hue of green and that will get stronger, and the stronger, the longer it infuses. You can probably wait until about five minutes, for a really nice strong peppermint flavor on this one.
So, five minutes has passed. You simply pour it through the strainer, to prevent the peppermint leaves coming into your cup. That gives us a lovely, lovely, fresh peppermint smell.
A really nice herbal tea. One of the best and most popular is peppermint tea. .
