How To Make Lamb Korma
Ever tried korma in an Indian restaurant and always wondered how its made? Why not have a go and make your own korma in your home. Kormas are typically made by marinating the main ingredient in yogurt and spices like ginger and garlic.

Ingredients
- 2 medium red onions
- 1 tsp ginger
- 1 tsp garlic
- 4 green caradomon
- 2 bay leaves
- 250 g boneless lamb
- 1 tsp black cumin seed
- 1 tsp nigella seeds
- 2 tbsp almond powder
- 3 tbsp desiccated coconut
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp dried red chili powder
- 6 tsp low fat yogurt
- 1 peeled potato
- 100 ml milk
- 200 ml hot water
Step 1: Making the korma
Slice two medium red onions, grate 1 tsp ginger and grate 1 tsp garlic. Add 2 teaspoon of rapeseed oil in preheated pan, add the two red onions, ginger and garlic to the pan. Mix.
Step 2: Spicing the curry
On a separate pan, add 1 tsp of oil, 4 green cardamons, 2 bay leaves, 250g of boneless lamb marinated of 1/2 tsp tumeric and 1/2 tsp ground kashmiri chilli. Cook for less than 5 mins.
Step 3: Blending the coconut
In a coffee blender, add 1 tsp black cumin seed, add 1 tsp nigella seeds, 2 tbsp almonds and 3 tbsp desiccated coconut. mix in the blender. Add to the pan full of onions and ginger, add 1/2 turmeric powder, 1 tsp red chili powder and add 6 tbsp low fat yogurt.
Step 4: Lamb korma
From the other pan transfer the boneless lamb and spices to the pan. Put 1 peeled half potato into the meat. Cook for 30 mins. Add 100ml of milk and 200ml hot water. Simmer for 30 mins on low heat. Serve.
