How To Make Little Girls' Hair Bows
Everyone loves to adorn their head with a pretty bow or two, from little girls to big girls! In this step by step guide Janie Lawson, milliner and owner of Glam Hatters' Tea Parties, shows you how to make a bow hair clip.
You Will Need
- pins
- scissors
- needle
- thread
- 1 hair clip
- 2 buttons
- 2 ribbons, of different colours
Method
Start by tying the ribbon into a bow. It might take a bit of adjusting and re-tying before you get it looking perfect, but persevere!
Trim off the excess by folding the ribbon in half lengthways and cutting at a slight angle to give you a V shape.
Repeat with the second ribbon.
Pin one bow on top of the other, leaving them at a slight angle so you can see both of them. Use a double thread to stitch the bows together, starting from the back. After a few stitches you can remove the pins and sew 2 buttons onto the front of the bow.
Sew your clip onto the back of the bow using the holes in the clip. Finish with a double stitch at the back, trimming off the remaining thread.
