How To Make Macaroons
Macaroons are elegant and sophisticated, but remarkably easy to make. Macaroons are perfect for those times when you want something a little special, a little more than just the average everyday cookie. Let VideoJug show you how to make macaroons.
Step 1: Pre-Heat
Pre-heat oven to 300 degrees (150 C, Gas Mark 2)
Step 2: Mix
Combine egg whites, vanilla and almond extracts, and sugar, then fold in coconut.
Step 3: Drop
Drop small mounds (1-2 inches across) of the coconut mixture onto a parchment paper-lined cookie sheet, leaving a couple of inches between cookies.
Step 4: Bake
Bake your macaroons about 15-20 minutes, until some of the edges are golden. Transfer the macaroons, still on the parchment paper, to a rack and let them cool for about 15 minutes before you put them in an airtight container. This recipe makes about 20 macaroons.
