Step : You will need…

  • 8 rashers of bacon, fried or grilled
  • some toast
  • 4 fried eggs
  • 4 sausages, fired or grilled
  • butter and jam
  • for the hash browns:
  • 4 medium potatoes, cut and parboiled
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 spring onions, chopped
  • 1 frying pan
  • 1 wooden spoon

Step 1: Start the hash browns

Place the frying pan on a high heat and add two tablespoons of butter. Allow to melt and add the parboiled potatoes. Cook for 3 minutes then turn. Cook for a further 3 minutes and then using a wooden spoon, gently break the potatoes up.

Step 2: Complete the hash browns

Season with salt and pepper and cook for a minute. Add another tablespoon of butter and the slices of onion. Cook for a further 3 minutes until the potatoes have browned and the onions have softened. Add the spring onions and remove from heat.

Step 3: Serve and enjoy

Present the hash browns on a large serving plate and compliment with a fried egg, 2 rashers of bacon, a sausage, a glass of orange juice and a mug of steaming coffee. Add toast for heavier brunches and spread generously with butter or jam.

    This video is clearly made outside the US, and they are attempting to replicate an American brunch. It's got nearly the right ingredients, but not cooked properly. The bacon and sausages are close, but not the same as American versions.

    Normally I'm not one to go with the crowd but those aren't anything like hashbrowns. Those are what we call home fries. Hashbrowns are grated then fried until crispy

    o um we normaly eat to or three eggs an 4/5 strips bacon couple sausage to pancakes or french toast an oatmeal or ceral um an milk an juice

    here in canada those are called home fried potatoes they need garlic an let the diner season as the butter is salty enough eggs look awful nothing worse than burnt on the bottom an raw on topdon't the english an french no how to turn an egg over to cook it properly lol

    If you want a lighter breakfast just add more carbohydrates to the plate of carbohydrates you already have... Are they serious??!! If you want a lighter breakfast have cereal with fruit.

    The name Hash Browns has extended to include friend potaotes, even though they are not the real hash browns.
