How To Make Paper Beads

Jessica Rose of the London Jewellery School shows you how to make your own quirky paper beads, great for making into bracelets and necklaces.

You Will Need

  • 2 sheets coloured paper
  • 1 pair of scissors
  • PVA glue
  • drinking straws
  • brush for glue application

Cut long thin triangles out of the coloured paper. If you like, you can cut out a template or just use your first triangle as a guide for cutting the others. Each triangle will make one bead.

Brush PVA glue on both sides of each triangle. Make sure there is plenty of glue. Wrap the triangle around a straw, starting at the largest end. When your have wrapped the whole triangle around the straw, hold it in place for a few seconds and then gently pull the paper off the end of the straw. Repeat for as many beads as you would like. Once the beads are dry, they can be used to make necklaces or other jewellery.
