How To Make Paper Snowflakes

This simple tutorial shows you how to make six pointed paper snowflakes out of recycled book pages, for a lovely, unique and environmentally friendly decoration!

I'm going to show you how to make a six-point paper snowflake. For this, you'll need a square piece of paper. We're using book pages here- recycled book pages- because it gives it a point of interest, it looks interesting, and it's actually really easy to work with.

And the first thing you're going to do is fold it into a triangle, and then fold it again in half, so you get this shape here. And then with the point facing you, fold up in a straight line, and then on the other side do the same thing, and then you'll have this shape here. And then, in order to get the six points, you'll need to cut.

So, you're going to start at this point here and then cut down. And then, this is where the creative bit starts. You can cut your shape to make your snowflake pattern and you can do whatever you want.

You can try little zigzags or curved shapes. The only thing you need to remember is that you will need, on this folded part here, you'll need at least some of it intact, because that's going to keep your snowflake together. And then on this side again, be creative.

And then for the moment of truth, open it out, and then you'll see you have a paper snowflake. .
