Ingredients

  • 2 tins chopped tomatoes
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 1/4 tsp chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tsp olive oil
  • 2 parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 butter
  • 2 tsp chopped garlic
  • pasta

Method

Chop up your garlic and onions, and blend up your tinned tomatoes.

Put the butter and half the oil in a pan. Once this is hot add the onions. Cook the onions for about five minutes, by which time they should begin to soften, then add the garlic. After a further minute add the chilli powder and the tomatoes. Cook the sauce for about 20 minutes. Once the sauce is ready add salt, pepper and the sugar.

Heat a large pan of water, add the pasta once it's boiling and keep tasting it until it is cooked but still has a firm texture.

Drain the pasta leaving a little of the cooking water behind. Season with salt, pepper, olive oil and sprinkle the parmesan on top.
