How To Make Pears In Maple Syrup

This is a fantastic recipe served with ice cream, but can be just as appetizing served on their own. Let Sian Blunos show you how to make pears in maple syrup.

Serves:
6-8 portions

Step 1: You will need

  • 4 firm pears, peeled
  • 1 large orange, squeezed
  • 30 ml maple syrup

Step 2: Core the pears

Gently heat the maple syrup and orange juice in a pan, and cut the pears in half and then carefully cut out the core.

Step 3: Cook the pears

Add the halved pears to the syrup mixture into the pan and spoon the liquid over the fruit for 5-7 minutes to get a lovely golden colour.

Leave to cool slightly and serve with some vanilla ice cream
